Why Buyers Choose Swiclick Tact Switches
Swiclick supports buyers looking for reliable and cost effective alternatives to established switch brands. For replacement and second source projects, our technical team can compare footprint, actuator height, operating force, electrical rating, life and mounting style against the incumbent part.
Production is managed under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems. Qualifying standard models are available with 1 to 50 free samples and a four working day sample lead time.
If you already have an incumbent part number, datasheet or drawing, see our switch second source solutions for structured cross reference and alternate source qualification.
If no standard part fully meets the application, Swiclick can also evaluate controlled modifications through our custom switch manufacturing service.

How to Choose a Tact Switch Supplier for Production
How to Qualify a Tact Switch Supplier for OEM Production
A supplier should be qualified for more than one good sample. For OEM and EMS production, the important question is whether the required electrical, mechanical and tactile performance can be maintained consistently across production lots.
Before approving a tact switch supplier, check the following areas.
1. Verify the Exact Product Specification
Confirm the body size, PCB footprint, actuator height, operating force, travel, electrical rating, contact resistance, life, sealing and soldering requirements for the exact model being quoted.
2. Check Batch-to-Batch Consistency
Do not qualify only from one hand-selected sample. Ask how operating force, dimensions, contact resistance and other critical parameters are controlled across normal production lots.
For user-interface switches, operating-force distribution is especially important because a small shift can change the feel of the finished product even when every part still falls inside a broad datasheet range.
3. Match the Quality System to the Project
For volume OEM sourcing, review the supplier's quality-management system and the documentation required by your own customer or industry. Swiclick operates under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.
Product-level approvals should also be checked against the exact switch model and target market rather than assumed from a logo shown elsewhere on the website.
4. Review Production and Inspection Capability
Ask how the supplier controls critical dimensions, operating force, contact resistance, solderability and visual defects during production.
A useful supplier should be able to explain the inspection method, acceptance criteria and traceability process rather than provide only a finished-product datasheet.
5. Qualify Samples in the Real Application
A switch that passes an incoming measurement can still fail after integration with the PCB, enclosure or keycap. Evaluate samples in the actual assembly and confirm fit, feel, electrical function, soldering process and required life.
If you are replacing an existing manufacturer part, compare the incumbent and candidate under the same qualification conditions.
6. Confirm Supply and Change-Control Expectations
Before moving into volume production, confirm MOQ, sample lead time, production lead time, lot traceability, packaging, change notification and the process for handling quality issues.
| Qualification Area | What to Ask For |
|---|---|
| Product fit | Datasheet, drawing, PCB footprint and exact model configuration |
| Consistency | Lot-level control of force, dimensions and contact performance |
| Quality system | Relevant ISO / IATF documentation and model-specific approvals where required |
| Production | Inspection method, traceability and process controls |
| Qualification | Samples for PCB, keycap, electrical, soldering and life validation |
| Supply | MOQ, lead time, packaging, PCN/change control and quality-response process |
If you are evaluating a second source rather than a new design, see Switch Second Source Solutions for the full incumbent-to-candidate qualification workflow.

FAQ
Tact switch is a momentary electromechanical switch that provides tactile feedback when pressed. It is commonly used for PCB input functions in consumer electronics, industrial controls, appliances and other electronic equipment.
Tact switch and tactile switch normally refer to the same type of momentary switch. Both terms are widely used for PCB switches that provide a noticeable tactile response during actuation.
Swiclick offers SMD and through hole tact switches in multiple body sizes, actuator heights and mounting configurations, including compact micro tact switches, 6×6 formats, illuminated versions and low profile options.
Yes. Selected Swiclick tact switch models are available with sealed constructions including IP67 options. The exact protection level should be confirmed for the selected model and application.
Selected KAN tact switch models are available with operating force options including 100 gf, 160 gf and 260 gf. Mechanical life depends on the exact model, with current product options ranging from 100,000 to 1,000,000 cycles.
Yes. Swiclick supports OEM and EMS projects involving actuator height, operating force, terminal configuration, mounting style, sealing and other model specific requirements. If a standard part already fits the application, Swiclick recommends the standard configuration first.
Swiclick offers 1 to 50 free samples for qualifying standard tact switch models with a four working day sample lead time. The standard minimum order quantity is 500 pieces. Custom projects follow a separate feasibility and sample schedule.
Yes. Send the existing manufacturer part number, datasheet or drawing. Swiclick can compare footprint, actuator height, operating force, electrical rating, life, mounting style and other critical parameters before recommending a candidate.
